Premier 1 U16 Hurling - 18/05/2016
Na Piarsaigh 3-16 Bride Rovers 3-15
This game saw our U 16 panel venture into the ranks of Premier 1 Hurling for the 1st time. But a trip to Fairhill to play Na Piarsaigh held no fear for this bunch of boys who lost out in the end by the narrowest of margins.
It was a keenly contested game from the off. The 1st half was more or less point for point and we went into the break 2 points down (7-5).
The 2nd half saw the game open up a bit more.Na Piarsaigh also increased the tempo at their side and this turned into a real contest. We scored some excellent points by Conor,Kieran,Cian and Griffen,and a move into full forward by Conleith Ryan saw him net 3 cracking goals. We found ourselves 5 points ahead with a few minutes left on the clock but we unfortunately conceded 2 late goals to go down by 1 point.
This was a great team effort by all involved and justice would have meant at least a draw.

U 16 Hurling v Blackrock
Bride Rovers 5-06 Blackrock 3-08
Our U 16 hurlers followed up their narrow loss to Na Piarsaigh with a well deserved victory over Blackrock in Pairc Na Bríde recently.
The game was played in fine conditions and we had the more possession in the 1st half but was not reflected in the half time score as we led by only a point.
Some great saves by Ben in goal kept us in the game and in the 2nd half we began to play more direct hurling and resulted in fine scores. We were always on top but yet conceded too many scores but held on to win.
