Minor Football:

On Friday 10th June, our minor footballers played the second round of the East Cork league (for non-exam players) against Erins Own in Pynes Pitch. This was end to end stuff with both teams putting in trojan work and Bride Rovers led at the half time whistle by five points, our scores coming from Ciara, Abbie, Ava, Nikki and Leah, and also from  Caoimhe who struck an excellent penalty.
Bride Rovers came out strong early in the second half with goals from Nikki and Ciara. However, Erins Own dominated for the next 20 minutes or so and clawed back several scores without reply to lead with a few minutes to go by four points. A point from Ciara and a goal from Lily in the dying seconds brought the game level and this was probably a fair result at the end of the day. Final score: 7 12 each. Our next game will be against Glanmire, details to be confirmed.
Scores: Nikki Parle (3 02), Ciara Morrisson (1 04), Caoimhe Barry and Lily Murray (1 01 each) Abbie O'Connell (1 00), Ava Barry (03) and Leah Hallihan (01).

Junior Camogie:
On Monday 13th June, our junior camogie panel travelled to Castle Road, Mahon to play Midleton in the Junior C league final. This was always going to be a tough match, the teams having met earlier in the competition. On that occasion, Midleton won by the narrowest of margins on a scoreline of 0 10 to 0 09.
Monday's game proved equally competitive though Midleton led by a six point margin at half time 1 04 to 1 10. Rovers worked harder in the second half and succeeded in chipping away at Midelton's lead with some well taken points and a converted penalty by Chloe. The game ended in a draw, Rovers 2 10 Midleton 1 13, with a replay at a date to be confirmed.
A big shout out to our supporters who travelled in numbers to cheer on the team.
Scores: Chloe O'Flynn (2 05) , Aislinn O'Connor and Grace Kearney (02 each), Ava Barry (01).
