The draw is being held by Leamlara Preservation Group and will offset the cost of a landmark judicial review next Tuesday in the High Court. The review centres on a proposed 450 acre solar farm for Monanig and Dundullerick (Ballysallagh). The proposal, on prime agricultural land, was refused permission from Cork County Council reflecting the huge local objection. This decision was, in turn, overturned by An Commisiún Pleanala) which had now led to locals looking for further justice in the high court. Given the range of further solar development in our local area, this high level appeal reflects that our local communities are united in opposing development of this nature.
