In an event that promises to be even bigger and better than last year, details of the Bartlemy Harvest Festival which will run in a fortnight (Thurs 11th -Sun 14th Sept) have just been released. (see information poster below)
There is something for all the family, with all events taking place in, or adjacent to, Bartlemy Hall with the kind support of the Hall Committee and their wider tranche of eager volunteers.
On Thursday 11th Sept, there will be Family Bingo which, if 2024 was anything to go by, will be very, very hotly contested! (7.30pm start).
On Friday 12th Sept, local historian John Arnold will lead a very interesting picture and video presentation of history in Bartlemy in A Trip Down Memory Lane
Saturday 13th Sept will be a day of great action. Firstly, a Car Treasure Hunt will take place from the early afternoon. This is an event where teams travel in their car around the parish to answer question specific to the area (some easy, some very hard!). For safety reasons, it is not a timed event. The team with the most correct answers will be crowned the carbon-emitting champions of 2025! This event is planned to be approx 90-120min in duration for each carload! Contestants may start from Bartlemy Hall at any time between 11am and 2pm, with the course closing at 4pm sharp.
That evening, Saturday 13th Sept, will see the incredible 'The Zodiacs' take to the stage. Following their village-rocking performance last year, they will be back with their vast array of showband classics and old-time waltzes. There will be a support act or two on the night to get the crowd prepped. The hall will be hopping and the jiving will be thriving! At this event, patrons are asked to BYOD (Bring your own drinks). Tea/Coffee refreshments will be served.
On Sunday 14th Sept, there will be an afternoon of Family Fun at the Fair. This event will feature a Vintage Display and Peter's Petting Farm (where you can pet animals, and local Councillor/s). There will be food stands, live music as well as a market of freshly harvest goods from local providers.
If you wish to contribute to any of the above, or help out in the planning of the event, there will be a brief meeting at 8.30pm this coming Wednesday in Bartlemy Hall. Also, if you or your business would like to sponser an event, or contribute prizes for any of the above, it would be very welcome. Ní neart gur chur le chéile.
