Bride Rovers Senior Ladies Football League..Bride Rovers played their first round of the Division 1A Senior Ladies Football League v Mourneabbey under the lights in Mourneabbey.
This year has seen a change of management with Dublin native Sarah Denvir taking over the coaching role. Sarah has vast experience having played for Dublin in recent years and Ballyboden St. Endaâs who have being a very successful club, winning 2 Club All-Irelands. Liam Barry is a selector with the team also.
Some of the very successful underage girls have joined the panel and will no doubt be an asset to the team. Michelle Hartnett has joined the club also. Eleanor Ahern will captain the team in 2015 ably assisted by Bridget Forde as vice-captain.
The Ladies team have being very successful in recent years having won Junior & intermediate Championship to reach senior status. Having won the Senior Division 1B League last year, we will not compete against some of the best ladies teams in the County. We can look forward to games against St. Vals, Eire Ãg, Clonakilty, Donoughmore & Inch Rovers over the coming weeks.
Training has being progressing well, Scannells Field & Bartlemy Hall were used at the start and we have enjoyed some sessions at the New Astro Turf pitch which is a fantastic facility and great credit is due to the adult club for taking on this project and bringing it to a successful conclusion. This facility will be of huge benefit to the club for years to come.
We hope you will come out on Saturday night and support the team in Mourneabbey and wish the team and management every success in the year ahead.
