Senior Ladies Football...

 

Our quarter final of the Senior A County Championship on Tuesday, August 19^th did not go well for us as we fell to 6-17 to 2-4 defeat. The girls will be hoping to bounce back to form in the Senior B semi-final where we have been drawn against Eire Og, provisionally set for Tuesday, September 9^th. We have a prep game against Fermoy on Tuesday, August 26^th. Details next week.

 

 Thursday, August 21^st, Carrigtwohill

Carrigtwohill 1-5               Bride Rovers 5-14            

 

We bounced back to form with a good win at Carrigtwohill last Thursday night. We started a little nervously but got into our stride as the game went on and got some good scores across a good spread of players while defending well at the back.

Our U16 East Cork league semi-final against Fermoy on Friday, August 22nd in Fermoy, 4pm ended in defeat 4-15 to 1-7. We now play in an East Cork B league final against Aghada and in B county championship.

 

A friendly match against Inch Rovers was held on Monday, August 25^th at Rathcormac. This was a fantastic match with all players on the panel, young and old, contributing greatly and finished 2-8 to 2-6 to Inch Rovers. We took the opportunity to get as much game time as possible for all players who played really well and the game was notable for some great build-up play, scores and fantastic defending.

We are holding an U8 blitz in our main pitch next Sunday morning, August 31^st. All participants in an U8 blitz will receive a medal.

 

Carrigaline were unable to field a junior team against us last Sunday night in Carrigaline so we played a useful friendly match against a combination side of their seniors and juniors.

 

Enniskeane were our visitors to Rathcormac on Wednesday, August 20^th in a county league playoff match and defeated us 2-8 to 2-3. Our next match at this age group is County Championship against Mallow.

 

We played Fr O’Neills in the semi-final of the U15 Imokilly competition on Tuesday night. Details next week.

 

in partnership with Rathcormac Community Council, the club’s ‘Wild Rovers’ fun weekend begins on Saturday, the 30^th  of August from 6.30pm to 9.30pm in the old school grounds, Rathcormac. Many fun games and activities for all age groups are lined up with live music and a barbecue on the night.

Festivities continue on Sunday, April 31st in the main pitch starting at 11am. U6, U8 and U10 boys and girls, camogie and football fun games are organised with many visiting clubs with lots of activities and fun games for young and not so young including more music and a barbecue on the day, Everyone is welcome for a great weekend of fun and games so please come along and support our young players who will be our stars in the future

 

Next clothes collection is at Rathcormac Hall on Friday, September 5^th.

 

Alan Healy,Rathcormac, was this winner of the Cork-Tipperary ‘Guess-the-score’ competition. Liam Cahill was the seller of the winning line for a second time!
