Ladies Club Notes - 31/10/2019

Munster club victory for our Senior Ladies..

Our Senior ladies footballers had a great win over Kerry champions Rathmore last Saturday in Mallow in the Munster Senior B plate quarter final on a scoreline of 5-10 to 1-18. We were slow out of the blocks and Rathmore had the opening scores but once Grace Culloty opened our account we settled well into this game. A point from a free by Katie Quirke was followed by a great goal from Leah Hallihan. Points from Jen Barry and Grace Kearney were followed by a stunning goal from Jen Barry to put us ahead, while two more points from Katie and Grace Kearney had us 2-07 to 0-11 up at the short whistle. The first 10 minutes of the second half saw Rathmore put us under huge pressure and we struggled with their ability to take points from distance. Two great tackles by Laura Quirke and a save by Sarah kept us in the game. Again, as in previous games, our fitness stood to us and we finished strongly. Goals from Grace Kearney, Niamh Barry and a goal and a point from Katie Quirke had us back in front. A monstrous point from Jen Cahill and a beautiful left leg effort from Mary Hazelwood saw us run out winners by 4 points. This was a physical test for our ladies but they stood up everything that Rathmore threw at them. We now move on to a semi final meeting with Brian Boru`s from Tipperary. At the time of going to print, that game is fixed for next Monday October 28th, time and venue to be confirmed. Please come out and support our senior ladies footballers as they chase a Munster club title. Bride Rovers Abu!!

U14 GIRLS FOOTBALL Bride Rovers 3 – 3   Barryroe  8-4

We finished our U14 season last Saturday when we played a county camogie quarter final at home to Barryroe.  We started off well scoring the first goal of the game within the first 5 minutes.  Having not played a camogie match since July the girls worked really hard and put in a great effort but Barryroe proved too strong for us over the 60mins. Well done to all
