U14 Football:
On Wednesday the 27th, the under 14 ladies football team lined out in their final game in the East Cork league - first round. It was important to win this match to be assured of a place in the semi finals but, unfortunately, they went into the game carrying a few injuries and a couple of the players were still recovering from chest infections. From the outset, it was clear that it was going to be a closely fought competition with the teams trading score for score with just two points dividing the sides at half time, Bride Rovers 4-3, Mayfield 3-4.  The second half was equally exciting and with ten minutes to go, we were unlucky to have a goal disallowed for square ball. Almost immediately, Mayfield scored two goals (one of which appeared to be a square ball!) to pull ahead by six points. True to form, Bride Rovers never gave up and a goal each from Ella Quinlan and Caoimhe Hazelwood in the dying minutes resulted in a 7-7 draw at the full-time whistle. Full marks to all the players who, as ever, worked tirelessly and did their best in a hard-fought competitive match.
Team: Katie Scollard, Caoimhe O'Sullivan, Caoimhe Kielty, Alice Murray, Rebecca Walsh, Alanna Broderick, Shauna Hayes (2-3), Sophie Dorgan (1-1), Ava Hallihan, Caoimhe Hazelwood (1-0), Leah Hallihan, Amy Kennedy (1-0), Abby Keating, Ali O'Riordan (0-1), Ella Quinlan (2-2), Chloe Murphy, Niamh O'Sullivan, Naoise McCarthy

U14 Camogie
On Saturday, the under 14 team travelled to Nemo Rangers to take part in the 2016 Camogie Feile. Bride Rovers had just thirteen players on the day and, thankfully, the opposition, Erins Own, Nemo and Rockban agreed to play thirteen aside. Although Bride Rovers didn't win any of their games, they played very well and showed a marked improvement as the games progressed. Well done to all who travelled and participated on the day.
